I heard Paranoid the album when I was eight years old. Changed my life forever. The brilliant guitar, the haunting lyrics. I was amazed. My friend had an older brother who had it and we used to sneak in his room and listen to it. When I heard War Pigs, I was just blown away. I never knew, being so young, that such music was possible, much less so innovative. Their entire catalog up to Never Say Die is still one of my favorite collections. Even if you’re not into hard rock or so-called “evil” music, you should give a listen. All of their stuff is brilliant.
The stuff with Dio after Ozzy is okay, but I still say Ozzy’s voice and Tony Iommi’s guitar blended in a way that hasn’t been reproduced or bettered since.
